Governments need to take care of their elderly citizens. This is done through a network of nurses and old houses. Keeping the elderly in old houses is costly, hence it is preferred to keep them at their homes and provide them necessary services when needed. Monitoring systems are therefore installed at homes, to provide emergency services. Travelling of nurses in Arctic during polar nights, is however, not as easy as in other places. Nurses have to travel just to take care of hygiene and sometime just to minimize the loneliness of elderly citizen. This is therefore not a cost effective and time effective solution.
Use of robots to reduce loneliness, sensors in floors to detect fall, camera's to monitor and nurses for hygiene care is a present solution. Robot however misses human touch, camera's reduces privacy, and floor sensors may give false signals. These solutions may also lead to some additional depression, and psychological issues in elderly. Uber nurses can also be used to take care of hygiene and to talk with elderly.
Nordic Care is an IoT and software based solution. The elderly will wear a smart watch which will detect fall and inform central health station. On smart watch the elderly can also register his need, and the information will be available within 5km range, in the mobile applications of trained registered neighbors and nurses. Either the nearest nurse or the trained registered neighbor will pick up the job. This business will foster social relationships and it is both cost effective and time effective solution. We will collaborate with old houses, and hospitals.
